After spending an eclectic youth in India, Hong Kong and England - Awon Golding moved to London to pursue her dream of millinery and since winning The Honourable Feltmaker's Guild award in their 2010 millinery competition and the Industry prize at the Hat Designer of the Year competition in 2013, Awon began to use her multicultural heritage to inspire the creation of dynamic headpieces.
Awon Golding worked as a fashion writer and magazine editor in Hong Kong, which helped her create hats which appeal to that same audience, her latest works have appeared in every reputable style bible from Harper's Bazaar to Vogue Italia. In London, studying millinery at Kensington & Chelsea College and completing an apprenticeship with renowned milliner Edwina Ibbotson, refined Awon’s skills. The passion and love which Edwina Ibbotson is known for can be seen within the Awon Golding brand.
Now the brand is known for couture skills combined with a fresh, modern design aesthetic. Worn by customers and fashion editors alike, the woman who wears Awon Golding isn’t afraid to be bold while believing in style and quality craftsmanship over transient trends.
This year, Awon Golding showed her S|S15 collection as part of British Fashion Council initiative Headonism at London Fashion Week, alongside other of Lovehat.com’s designers including Emma Yeo & Keely Hunter.
