Sophie Beale Millinery
Browse the CollectionBiography
‘Originality, enthusiasm, technique, design…’ - just a few of the criteria that Phillip Treacy and the Grazia judges were looking for in their Hat Factor competition earlier this year. Sophie Beale’s stunningly elegant bird-inspired creation was a clear winner and since the announcement, the young milliner has gone from strength to strength. Her resulting prize - taking part in Hatwalk; the millinery extravaganza that celebrated the best of British millinery - has placed Sophie firmly on the map. Sophie has also previously attracted media attention when she won the Award for Innovation - The Worshipful Company of Felt Makers Design Award in 2011.
With a background in design, textiles and costume, Sophie has developed her passion for millinery under the watchful eyes of some of the most iconic of today’s milliners. Working as an assistant to Phillip Treacy, Noel Stewart and Stephen Jones, among others, Sophie’s attention to craftsmanship is unquestionable.
Sophie Beale’s distinctively graphic lines contrast with an organic softness. Her sculptural silhouettes are juxtaposed with a contemporary romanticism, resulting in whimsical and highly covetable pieces. View Sophie’s latest collection at LOVEHATS.COM for a taste of the unexpected.
